How to use the liquidation calculator
Enter your entry price, direction and leverage, then choose whether your size is margin or position value. The result shows the estimated liquidation price, the distance from entry, and the bankruptcy price where your margin is fully lost.
Higher leverage moves the liquidation price closer to entry. The leverage table shows how the same margin behaves from 2x to 125x, so you can pick a level where price needs a large move to liquidate you.
In cross mode your extra wallet balance also protects the position, which pushes the liquidation price further away but puts the rest of your balance at risk. Add a take profit and a stop loss to see profit, loss and reward-to-risk including trading fees.
Why does my exchange show a different number?
Exchanges add tiered maintenance amounts, funding, fees and other open positions. Use this tool for planning and confirm the final number on your exchange.
Should my stop loss come before the liquidation price?
Yes. A stop that sits beyond the liquidation price never triggers, because you are liquidated first. The calculator warns you when that happens.
How the calculation works
Formula: with margin M, position value N, quantity Q = N / entry and maintenance rate m, a long is liquidated when equity falls to the maintenance requirement: liq = entry x (1 - M/N) / (1 - m). A short uses liq = entry x (1 + M/N) / (1 + m). In cross mode the extra wallet balance is added to M, so the liquidation price moves further away. The automatic maintenance rate follows a typical tier table by position value and is only an approximation; exchanges also add maintenance amounts, funding and fees, so always check the number shown on your exchange before relying on it.
